At Youth Community Development Ghana (YCDG), we envision a society where young people in rural communities feel part of a larger Ghanaian community. In this community, human rights and equality are respected, regardless of personal beliefs or background.
Our aim is to be the first point of contact in mobilizing funds to eradicate poverty and improve lives. By empowering the youth and working closely with vulnerable communities, YCDG is committed to creating opportunities for individuals to learn, lead, and thrive in every aspect of their lives.
We are building a future where young leaders are equipped with the skills and support they need to drive positive change in their communities and beyond, ensuring a sustainable and inclusive society for all.
At Youth Community Development Ghana (YCDG), our mission is to bring together and develop a network of Ghanaian youth to enable the sharing and promotion of best practices in an interactive, inclusive, and collaborative community. We encourage a safe and supportive environment where young leaders can be empowered to reach their full potential.
Furthermore, YCDG strives to provide a voice for rural communities, ensuring that they are heard by Ghanaian institutions and decision-makers on key topics that affect their lives. We work tirelessly to empower the youth, helping them lead, learn, and thrive, while also advocating for community-driven solutions that foster sustainable development.
Our organization is committed to addressing issues such as education, mental health, intercultural dialogue, and poverty eradication through youth participation and community engagement.
We believe that each individual’s work and efforts collectively help in achieving our results and targets. We hold each individual in high esteem, as well as the communities we work in/with. Furthermore, we believe in unity in diversity.
As an organization, we believe we are called to serve the marginalized, and vulnerable with humility and Love. We also believe that as youth we are called to provide support.
We are transparent in all our dealings, including financials. We at YCDG believe that whatever we do here on earth, we shall be accountable to God. We are transparent about our decisions and actions and as a result, we accomplish what we plan to do. As an organization, we are accountable for every action we take, no matter the outcome. The resources given to us by donors are used for their intended tasks. We want our donors to feel comfortable giving to help the marginalized and vulnerable in our society. We give detailed accounts of the resources we receive from donors. Furthermore, we report annually to our stakeholders by providing details of our annual and financial reports.
YCDG focuses on approaches that help communities to develop holistically which encompasses the mental, moral, physical, financial, and spiritual. We do not discriminate against persons based on religion, gender and nationalities. We focus on bringing lasting impacts and change to the people we work with, thus not looking at our own things but looking at the interest of others.
At YCDG, we believe that though the body has many parts, it still forms one body. We believe that each individual’s work and efforts collectively help in achieving our results and targets. We hold each individual in high esteem, as well as the communities we work in/with. Furthermore, we believe in unity in diversity.
Everything we do as an organization is not only done in the sight of God but also in the sight of Men. We follow our moral and ethical convictions, and we ensure that the right thing is done in all circumstances. We are honest and truthful in all of our dealings. We are consistent with our actions and plans regardless of the situation.
At YCDG we are quick to respond and react appropriately to appeals and suggestions from the communities when they are stricken by emergencies and life-threatening challenges. We are sensitive to changes and control mechanisms and react in a ready manner.
We believe that we have been given talents and skills by God and we are to work with our talents and skills to produce yields some ten, five, three, etc. We take good care of what God has assigned us with which includes taking good care of the land, reaching to the less privileged and marginalized. We also ensure that the resources given to us by donors, individuals, organisations and partners are used for the intended purpose to generate benefits for the communities we partner and work with.
